SEVEN SEEDS OF PASSING TIME
SEVEN SEEDS OF PASSING TIME
by Dmytro Baryshev
Painting "Seven seeds of passing time" interpreted as a reflection on the frailty of life and the transformation of the material world. Destruction and transformation; depicted characters with elongated, elongated, thin flowing figures and a mosaic structure are reminiscent of the processes of aging and time, this symbolizes the inevitable changes that occur both on the physical and spiritual levels. The central place is occupied by a dish symbolizing a sunflower, indicating the cycle of life, the symbolism of seeds is associated with the idea of the birth of something new, the use of geometric shapes in the background creates a sense of space outside the usual perception of time, symbolizing the flow and interconnection of alchemical symbols. The number seven is a sacred number; associated with completeness and spiritual perfection, this indicates 7 cycles of life and 7 stages of time, 7 fingers correspond to 7 seeds, this symbolizes the role of hands as an instrument that sows and reaps the harvest of time involved in the process of life and death. The figure eight inverted horizontally is a metaphor for infinity, human and supernatural nature is emphasized by eight fingers as superpowers for transformation that shape reality. The different number of fingers emphasizes the imbalance and asymmetry inherent in human existence, which prompts reflection on how unevenly time distributes its gifts and losses. The dial of the table represents a circle-symbol of the cyclical nature of life, that time repeats itself in its cycle of infinity. The table here is associated with a feast; here it becomes a platform for reflection on how people use the time allotted to them and how it devours them. The hourglass is one of the oldest symbols depicting the passage of time with endless transitions and cycles; the thin partition between the lower and upper parts of the clock symbolizes the fragility of human life and the elusiveness of moments. The hourglass combines two states - accumulation and loss. They symbolize the transition from the physical to the spiritual and eternal, which is combined with the transcendental forms of the characters.
